Essie's Peach Cobbler

This recipe was handed down from my grandmother to my mother to me (and my sisters). It was originally on the label of a can of peaches or bag of flour or something.

Essie’s Cobbler

Cream together until light and fluffly: ¼ c. softened butter

½ c. sugar

In a separate bowl sift together: 1 c. flour

2 tsp Baking Powder

¼ tsp salt

Add dry ingredients into Creamed mixture. Mix alternately with ½ c. milk. Beat until smooth. Pour into greased loaf pan 10X5X3. Spoon drained fruit from a can over batter. Sprinkle ¼ to ½ c. sugar over fruit. Bake for 45-50 minutes @375 degrees.
