Updates

Well it has been a week since I last blogged. We have been pretty busy. I had a midwife appointement last monday and the baby's was transverse. I had a week for it to change position, went in today and she thinks it is head down, but cant be sure.....so tomorrow I go for an ultrasound to double check.....if it is not in position, I will be transferred to a doctor who will try and turn it, but then I become his patient. This biggest problem with this is that we dont have insurance and even if we did (we priced last year) there would be at least a $5,000 - $15,000 deductible. So please pray the baby will be (or stay if already) in position and that I can have a natural delivery.

My garden is doing great. We have lots of baby tomatoes and baby pickles with lots more flowers on them.. My flax & dill have finally poked through and my basil and rosemary are really taking off. My daughters watermelon is growing all over the place and I saw the first bud on it, I hope it will be ready before the cold gets here. Oh and my green beans, peppers, cantelope, corn and cucumbers are looking in great shape also.

Yesterday we went sour cherry & blueberry picking. We got several pints of both. I made four quarts of sour cherry pie filling and hope to use the other two quarts for making some jam. Last night I made fresh blueberry pancakes for supper, and bagged at least a gallon freezer bag. I still have about 3 quarts of blueberries and want to freeze some more and make a quart of blueberry pie filling (or maybe I will just make a fresh blueberry pie). YUM. I would really like to get our own blueberry, blackberry, and red raspberry bushes, but not sure we will have room enough in our yard for them. I also wouldnt mind having our own Cherry tree either, but not sure where we would put that either. All our chicken have been laying everyday also, so we have lots of eggs. I want to give more away, but am currently out of egg cartons. God is truly blessing us this summer and hopefully we will continue to have a bountiful harvest.

I have been busy cleaning this past weekend (except yesterday), I dont know if it is nesting instinct or just spring cleaning finally kicking in...or perhaps it could have to do with the fact that my mother will be coming to visit in a month after the baby is born, but I have been trying to catch up on the detail cleaning and still have a ways to go.

I accidentally washed dh's cell phone (oops), so we currently only have one working phone right now (we dont have a landline) so hopefully he can get a new one today.

Please pray for this upcoming birth that Lord Willing it will be natural and a healthy baby and that I will have peace.

Hello Kayinpa! I've been thinking about you, and I haven't been able to comment on Homestead blogger. Please keep me/us updated as too what is happening with the new blessing. I'll keep you in my prayers. Be Safe, take it easy and don't try to tackle everything, just the important things. I'm sure you'll enjoy the visit with your Mom and I just know she will be a huge help to you.

Here is a great article entitled The Baby Is The Lesson. It is so good and I thought it might bless you.
